Mike Vrabel led the New England Patriots to a 31-13 victory over his former team, the Tennessee Titans, in Week 7, and while the win was a big one for him and the Pats, he wasn’t fully content with it.

With more and more attention being diverted to New England amid its hot start to the 2025 campaign, much of the focus in the buildup to this game was placed on Vrabel facing off against the team that fired him back in 2023. There’s no doubt Vrabel wanted to win this one, and his new squad ended up delivering the goods.

Sticking it to your old team always has to feel good, but Vrabel wasn’t fully satisfied with this victory. When speaking to the Patriots after the game, Vrabel admitted that he believes the team can play better football moving forward, even though they won this one by 18 points.

“There’s so much better football that we can play,” Vrabel said as part of his postgame speech in the locker room. “It’s close, OK? But you kept taking care of business, and I’m proud of you. I appreciate your effort fellas, I’m proud of what you guys did.”

Amid this stretch of success, it’s Vrabel’s job to ensure that the Pats don’t get complacent. While they won this game, he’s right to say that it wasn’t their best outing. The defense got off to a slow start again, and the offense sputtered down the stretch, although it wasn’t particularly important considering the game was already in hand.

Vrabel’s pursuit of perfection has clearly resonated with New England, and the early results have been quite impressive, even if he believes the team can get better. The Patriots will look to earn their fifth straight win in Week 8 when they take on the Cleveland Browns.
