The Boston Bruins are on a three-game winning streak after pulling out a 2-1 upset win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.

Boston entered the game coming off back-to-back wins over the New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres, and was looking to build off that. The Bruins played well, and Casey Mittlestadt broke the ice just over a minute into the third period to give Boston a 1-0 lead.

The Bruins got up 2-0 before Carolina scored with less than three minutes to go. Yet, goalie Jeremy Swayman was stellar in the net, and he was pleased with his performance.

”I know what I need to do to help this team win games,” Swayman said, as seen on NESN’s postgame coverage. “Sometimes it’s just not your night. You can’t control certain things. Park it, move forward, and have that mindset of next shot. I just thought we had a complete game tonight.

“That is something we can really build on, and good to have momentum, three games now, feeling good about our game moving forward.”

Bruins head coach Marco Sturm, meanwhile, was pleased with Swayman’s performance, which was key in Boston pulling off the upset win.

“Really good,” Sturm said. “It doesn’t really surprise me. I expected him to be just like he was today, outstanding.”
