The New York Jets already sent shockwaves across the NFL on Tuesday, but they weren’t done…

New York, after already completing a blockbuster trade that sent cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts, made another shocking move by sending defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys, according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

Dallas will send defensive tackle Mazi Smith, a second-round pick in 2026 and a first-round pick in 2027 in return, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Williams, 27, will become the new face of a defense that has recently undergone significant turnover, which started with trading linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Williams comes with his contract already situated, as he received a 4-year, $96 million extension in 2023 and runs through 2027.

The Jets don’t appear to be done working the phones, either, with The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt mentioning that there has been significant interest in linebacker Jermaine Johnson.
