One Big Takeaway As Bruins Brawl Lone Highlight In Dreadful Loss To Jets

The Boston Bruins dropped an embarrassing 8-1 decision to the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre on Tuesday night.

The Bruins had no answer for the Jets’ offense, and dropped to 15-12-3 on the season, snapping their four-game winning streak in the process.

After giving up three power-play goals to the Jets and the game completely out of reach in the third period, the Bruins dropped the gloves three times in the first 10 minutes of the final frame.

Trent Frederic was the first Bruin to try to inject some life into the Black and Gold. Frederic dropped David Gustafsson with one punch after the pair danced a bit at center ice. As the Bruins on the bench were giving Frederic stick taps on the boards, Mark Kastelic and Logan Stanley decided to go at it at the end of the Jets bench. After Stanley got in a couple of body shots, Kastelic took the Winnipeg defenseman down to his knees.

The penalties were matching on both sides, but Kastelic and Stanley each received a game misconduct for fighting after the conclusion of the Frederic-Gustafsson bout.

Immediately following the ensuing faceoff, Nikita Zadorov and Adam Lowry shed their gloves and battled at the blue line. With both skaters exchanging punches, the final fight of the period ended in a no-decision.
