Former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom was rushed to a hospital Tuesday after being found unconscious at Dennis Rof’s Love Ranch South, a Las Vegas-area brothel, according to the Nye County, Nev., sheriff’s office.
Odom had arrived at the brothel Saturday and partied for several days with the women, according to TMZ Sports, citing sources at the ranch. He reportedly was taking an herbal substance as a substitute for Viagra, they added.
Hof told TMZ that a woman entered Odom’s room Tuesday afternoon and began screaming when she found him unconscious. A manager rolled Odom onto his side and found “mucus-type liquid coming out of his nose and mouth.”
Odom, 35, was supposed to be airlifted to a hospital, but his 6-foot-10 frame was too large for the helicopter, Nye County Sheriff Sharon Wehrly told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Odom instead was taken via ambulance to the hospital, where TMZ reported he was intubated — meaning he wasn’t able to breathe on his own.
“It’s not good,” one source told TMZ.
Odom was a two-time NBA champion with the Lakers, but he has dealt with drug problems for several years. Those issues led to his divorce from reality TV star Khloe Kardashian in 2013 after four years of marriage.
