It appears NHL referee Wes McCauley has a flair for the dramatic.
McCauley stole the show Monday night in San Jose when he was at the center of a crucial play in a game between the Sharks and Los Angeles Kings.
McCauley apparently had a sense of the moment, as he came out guns blazing after reviewing a would-be goal from Melker Karlsson. After careful consideration and going through the replay process, McCauley returned to center ice and absolutely crushed it with his announcement.
The announcement obviously thrilled the Sharks and their fans. Kings coach Darryl Sutter, on the other hand, was not amused.
Then again, we’re not really sure what Sutter’s thinking there. He kind of always looks like that.
The Internet obviously had its fun with the announcement, too.
The Sharks won the game 5-2.
