Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson could be cooking up his biggest plan yet.
The WWE superstar-turned-movie star told Vanity Fair’s Paul Chi on Sunday that he’s considering running for U.S. President in 2020. He said Donald Trump’s improbable election win over Hillary Clinton last week demonstrated that anything is possible in American politics.
“I wouldn’t rule it out,” Johnson said, albeit with a big smile. “It would be a great opportunity to help people, so it’s possible. This past election shows that anything can happen.”
Johnson’s admission to Vanity Fair comes eight months after a website attempted to lure him into the 2016 race, five months after he told British GQ he’d consider running one day and one month after he gave a Twitter user a similar answer.
Johnson, 44, claims legions of fans in the U.S. from his professional wrestling days, and he currently is world’s highest-paid actor. He also is no political outsider, having spoken at the 2000 Republican National Convention.
He wouldn’t be the first (would-be) president with WWE ties, either. Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. Look how his campaign turned out.
