DraftKings Week 7 Dream Lineup: Philip Rivers, John Brown Smart Picks
Week 7 of the 2015 NFL season begins Thursday with a matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.
For fantasy football owners, including those who enjoy daily fantasy games on DraftKings, most of the action will take place Sunday with 12 games on the schedule.
Here’s our DraftKings dream lineup for Week 7.
Quarterback: Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers ($6,500)
Rivers threw for an astounding 503 yards against the Green Bay Packers last week. He has a favorable Week 7 matchup against an Oakland Raiders defense giving up the second-most pass yards per game (299) this season. This has the potential to be a very high-scoring game and Rivers should be at the center of it.
Rivers isn’t even that expensive on DraftKings. His $6,500 price ranks ninth among quarterbacks.
Running Backs: Devonta Freeman, Atlanta Falcons ($7,900); Chris Ivory, New York Jets ($5,800)
Freeman ran for 100 yards and extended his touchdown streak to five games in Week 6. His hot streak should continue against a Tennessee Titans defense that ranks 28th in rush yards against per game (129.6).
Ivory is facing a Patriots defense that’s struggled against the run over the last few seasons and is allowing 114 rush yards per game. He ran for 146 yards and a touchdown versus the Washington Redskins last week.
Wide Receivers: DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans ($8,600); Donte Moncrief, Indianapolis Colts ($5,200); John Brown, Arizona Cardinals ($5,500)
Hopkins is the league’s leading receiver by 88 yards and his 90 targets are 15 more than the second-place WR. He’s the most dependable fantasy wideout right now.
Moncrief has a good matchup versus a poor Saints defense averaging 277 pass yards against per game, and Brown is a solid value play coming off a good Week 6 performance in which he tallied 10 receptions for a career-high 196 yards.
Tight End: Benjamin Watson, New Orleans Saints ($3,300)
Watson enjoyed a breakout Week 6 performance with 10 receptions, 127 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets. He’s emerged as the No. 2 option behind second-year receiver Brandin Cooks in the prolific Saints passing attack.
Defense: Pittsburgh Steelers ($2,600)
The Steelers held the high-powered Cardinals offense to just 13 points in Week 6, and they have a favorable matchup in Week 7 against a Kansas City Chiefs team that’s averaged just 16 points over the last three games and is without its best player, running back Jamaal Charles, for the rest of the season.
