DraftKings Week 17 Fantasy Football Dream Lineup: Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks Among Best Picks
Fantasy football ended for a lot of people in Week 16, but with so many playoff seeds and berths still at stake in Week 17, there are lots of reasons to play DraftKings this weekend.
Here’s our DraftKings dream lineup for Week 17.
Quarterback: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers ($6,900)
Roethlisberger, and the Steelers as a whole, played poorly in an upset loss to the Baltimore Ravens last week. Pittsburgh must beat the Cleveland Browns to have any chance of making the playoffs, so we should expect a quality performance from Big Ben in Week 17. He threw for 379 yards and three touchdowns against the Browns on Nov. 15.
Running Backs: Todd Gurley, St. Louis Rams ($7,400); DeAngelo Williams, Pittsburgh Steelers ($7,100)
Gurley is playing a San Francisco 49ers defense allowing 125.8 rushing yards per game. He ran for 133 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers on Nov. 1. Williams also has a favorable matchup versus a Browns defense giving up the most rushing yards per game and the fourth-most yards per carry.
Wide Receivers: Eric Decker, New York Jets ($6,500); Eddie Royal, Chicago Bears ($3,300); Brandin Cooks, New Orleans Saints ($6,400)
Decker has been a consistent fantasy performer all campaign. He also has three straight games with a touchdown and four scores in his last five games for a Jets team that would clinch a playoff spot with a win in Buffalo on Sunday.
Royal is a gamble, but he’s a good value in PPR leagues such as DraftKings with five receptions in back-to-back games.
Cooks has been a fantasy stud of late with 100 or more receiving yards and a touchdown in three of the Saints’ last four games. He’s also been targeted an average of nine or more times in the last four weeks, and fantasy football is all about opportunity.
Tight End: Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys ($3,300)
Witten’s streak of three straight games with five receptions ended in Week 16, but he’s still a decent value at $3,300. The veteran tight end also has a pretty good matchup versus a Washington Redskins defense ranked 22nd in passing yards allowed per game.
Flex: James White, RB, New England Patriots ($5,000)
White doesn’t tally many yards, but he’s worth a flex play because of his ability to consistently find the end zone. The Patriots running back has scored a touchdown in four straight games and five of his last six.
Defense: Washington Redskins ($2,800)
The Cowboys’ offense hasn’t scored 20 or more points in five straight games and it failed to score a single touchdown in last week’s 16-6 loss to the Buffalo Bills. The Redskins’ improving defense shouldn’t have too much trouble making Cowboys quarterback Kellen Moore’s life miserable.
