Celtics-Raptors Odds: Toronto Favored Over Boston In Atlantic Division Clash

The Boston Celtics wrap up a three-game road trip Wednesday when they travel north of the border to take on the surging Toronto Raptors as three-point betting underdogs at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The Celtics will look to rebound from a disappointing 118-113 overtime loss against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, going down to defeat as two-point road favorites and ending a three-game straight-up win streak that had lifted them back into the playoff picture in the NBA’s Eastern Conference.

Boston opened its current road swing with a 119-117 win against the Washington Wizards on Saturday but has struggled as the visitor in recent outings, claiming just one SU road win in its last five games ahead of Wednesday’s Celtics vs. Raptors betting matchup at Air Canada Centre.

The club has failed to reward bettors in recent road dates, going winless against the spread in its past five despite averaging over 107 points per game during that stretch.

The Celtics’ offensive output has had a dramatic impact on totals betting however, with the over prevailing in each of their past four road contests and in five of their last six games overall.

The Raptors hit the hardwood Wednesday riding high after posting their fifth straight SU win Monday night, topping the Brooklyn Nets 112-100 as 11-point home chalk.

The victory improves Toronto to 14-6 SU over its past 20, leaving it just three games back of the first-place Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

Toronto has now held opponents to 100 or fewer points in four of its past five outings, covering the spread in each of those contests and regaining some much needed momentum at the sportsbooks after failing to post back-to-back ATS wins since late November.

Wednesday’s matchup marks the second meeting of the season between these Atlantic Division rivals after Toronto claimed a 113-103 decision as two-point chalk at TD Garden in late October.

The Celtics have been largely dominated by the two-time defending Atlantic champions, going 3-7 SU and 5-5 ATS over their past 10 meetings, including four SU road losses, according to the OddsShark NBA Database.

Following their clash with the Raptors, the Celtics return home Friday to face the Chicago Bulls before hitting the road for games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Wizards.

Boston and Chicago have split a pair of meetings this season. However, the Bulls are a dominant 7-2 SU in their last nine against the Celtics. The 5-38 76ers have shown signs of life in recent outings, going undefeated ATS in their past four games.
