Celtics Odds: Boston Favored As Red-Hot Trail Blazers Visit TD Garden

The Boston Celtics will look for just their second win in their past six meetings with Portland when they host the surging Trail Blazers on Wednesday as 5 1/2-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Boston rides an 11-game straight-up winning streak at home into Wednesday night’s Trail Blazers vs. Celtics betting matchup at TD Garden, but has struggled against Portland over the past three years, claiming just one SU win and two against the spread victories in its past five meetings.

Portland’s visit to Boston marks the fourth stop on its current six-game Eastern road trip, and its third contest in four nights.

The Trail Blazers are coming off a 104-83 win over the New York Knicks as five-point chalk on Tuesday, improving their overall record to 33-28, and maintaining a grip on sixth place in the Western Conference.

Since enduring a miserable 11-20 SU start to the season the Trail Blazers have caught fire, going 22-8 SU since Christmas Day, including their current 14-2 SU run, and are an impressive 8-1 in their past nine on the road, both SU and ATS, and 5-1 SU in their past six as road underdogs, according to the OddsShark NBA Database.

Following their date with Portland on Wednesday, the Celtics wrap up their current homestand with a visit from the New York Knicks on Friday before traveling to Cleveland for a Saturday clash with the Cavaliers.

Boston has taken five of its past six against the Knicks, 4-2 ATS, including two of three so far this season, and ended a five-game losing streak against the Cavaliers with a 104-103 win in Cleveland on Feb. 5, claiming the victory as 6 1/2-point underdogs.
