DraftKings Week 2 Lineup: Best Player Picks In DFS Fantasy Football

If you didn’t do well in daily fantasy during Week 1 of the NFL season, don’t worry because DraftKings allows you to set a new lineup every week.

Here’s our lineup for Week 2, which begins Thursday night with a divisional matchup between the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.

Quarterback: Blake Bortles, Jacksonville Jaguars ($6,700)
Bortles nearly led the Jaguars to an upset win over the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, and he should have an easier time against a San Diego Chargers defense that allowed 30 points in the second half and overtime in Week 1 to an inferior quarterback in Alex Smith. Bortles has thrown for 290 or more yards in five of his last seven games going back to last season, including a 328-yard performance in Week 1.

Running Backs: C.J. Anderson, Denver Broncos ($6,800); DeMarco Murray, Tennessee Titans ($5,700)
Anderson was in a very small group of running backs who posted 100-plus total yards in Week 1, and he also added a touchdown on the ground and as a receiver. He should destroy a bad Indianapolis Colts run defense in Week 2.

Murray had just 42 rushing yards in Week 1, but he made an impact in PPR leagues such as DraftKings with five catches for 35 yards and two touchdowns. He’s a smart play against a poor Detroit Lions defense this week.

Wide Receivers: Victor Cruz, New York Giants ($4,300); Doug Baldwin, Seattle Seahawks ($6,600); Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers ($6,500)
Cruz found the end zone for the first time since 2014 in Week 1, and he should have another productive day against a horrendous New Orleans Saints secondary Sunday.

Baldwin continues to be undervalued in DFS despite catching a touchdown pass in seven of his last nine games going back to last season, including the game-winning score in Week 1.

Benjamin’s impressive return from major knee surgery against a tough Denver Broncos defense in Week 1 should give DFS players confidence in an even better showing versus a weak San Francisco 49ers defense that lacks a shutdown cornerback.

Tight End: Delanie Walker, Tennessee Titans ($4,500)
Walker’s three receptions for 42 yards against the Minnesota Vikings was disappointing for fantasy owners, but he has a much better Week 2 matchup against a Lions defense that was shredded by the Colts in Week 1.

Flex: Willie Snead, WR, New Orleans Saints ($5,800)
Snead caught nine passes for 172 yards and one touchdown in Week 1, and he should be fantasy relevant each week as the No. 2 receiver for quarterback Drew Brees, who threw for 423 yards last Sunday and again should lead the league in passing yardage.

Defense: Baltimore Ravens ($3,000)
Taking the defense that’s going up against the Cleveland Browns always is a decent play, and that’s Baltimore’s matchup in Week 2. Making matters worse for Cleveland is the loss of starting quarterback Robert Griffin III after he suffered a Week 1 injury. Josh McCown will start in Griffin’s place against the Ravens and try to improve on the Browns’ lackluster 288 total yards against a bad Philadelphia Eagles defense on opening weekend.
