The Patriots already have a pair of stud tight ends in Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez, but adding another to the fold might be in the cards this offseason. Daniel Fells wasn’t a consistent contributor as the season wore on and his nearly $1.5 million cap hit could impact the team’s decision on his future. Michael Hoomanawanui is a free agent, although the team would like him back, and there’s no expectation of what Jake Ballard might offer. So, given Fasano’s production in the passing game (2012: 41 catches, five touchdowns), it at least makes sense to give him a look.
