The Colorado Rockies are an interesting team going into 2014, and if they stay in the National League playoff race, it’s unlikely that the Rox will deal either Carlos Gonzalez or Troy Tulowitzki. The duo has been mentioned in trade rumors before, though, so perhaps some misfortunes this season could force Colorado to reconsider dealing one of the two stars.
Gonzalez is owed $63.5 million for the next four seasons, which is extremely reasonable in the current market. Maybe the Red Sox will be enamored by CarGo’s skill set enough to consider putting together an enticing package of prospects and entering the future with the outfielder as a franchise cornerstone.
