NHL: New Jersey Devils at Boston BruinsThe Bruins’ blue line has been ravaged by injuries this season.

The latest loss came in Tuesday night’s win over the St. Louis Blues when veteran defenseman Adam McQuaid left the game early in the second period and didn’t return.

McQuaid will be out of the lineup for six to eight weeks with a broken thumb, the team announced Wednesday, which will force young defensemen Matt Bartkowski, Kevan Miller, Joe Morrow, Torey Krug and recent call-up Zach Trotman to raise their performance in his absence.

It will be a great challenge for the Bruins, who have top-tier teams such as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens on their upcoming schedule.

NESN.com Bruins beat writer Nick Goss and MassLive.com’s Jen McCaffrey sat down to share their thoughts on Boston’s recent performance, injuries and what lies ahead in the latest Bruins podcast.
