The 2018 season is about to get real.
The Boston Red Sox welcome the New York Yankees to Fenway Park for three games starting Tuesday night, marking the longtime rivals’ first clash of the year. The Red Sox are riding an eight-game winning streak since dropping their season opener, while the Yankees just lost three of four to the Baltimore Orioles, including two games in extra innings, to fall to 5-5 on the young campaign.
So, what should we expect when the American League East beasts lock horns? NESN.com’s Ricky Doyle and Dakota Randall answered that question on the latest edition of the “NESN Red Sox Podcast.”
Ricky and Dakota also looked at how Xander Bogaerts’ injury impacts the Red Sox, what makes Boston’s offense so different under new manager Alex Cora and which superstar — Giancarlo Stanton or J.D. Martinez — is more likely to overcome his early struggles.
