Bay smashed a solo shot in the series opener on Monday night against the Tigers and followed that up with a three-run shot to tie things up in the second inning of Tuesday’s wild win.
On Wednesday, Bay kept things rolling by not only smacking a homer in his third straight game, but by reaching base all five times he came to the plate. He went 3-for-3 with a homer, two doubles and two walks.
In the first three games of the four-game series, Bay has posted six hits, three homers, six RBIs and four runs scored against MoTown. His third-inning homer extended his hitting streak to seven games during which he is hitting .435 (10-for-23) with four homers, seven RBIs and six runs scored.
The three-game homer streak is the third of his career, the last time being from Sept. 7-9 last season. While with Pittsburgh in 2006, Bay had a six-game homer streak from May 22-28.
