Peter-Owen Hayward smacked a grand slam as Brattleboro took down Essex Town 13-3 in the decisive second game in the Vermont state finals.
"We are all so excited to go to Bristol — I'm overwhelmed by it all," Hayward told the Burlington Free Press.
"It was a fastball, right down the middle," said Hayward, who also ripped a two-run single in Brattleboro's three-run second inning. "I didn't know at first if it was going to go out; I was really hoping."
