Report: Browns’ Stallworth to Meet With Goodell

Will Donte Stallworth's indefinite suspension from the NFL soon be coming to an end?

Probably not. But anonymous sources told Miami TV station WPLG that the Browns wide receiver, who was convicted of DUI manslaughter in June and spent 24 days in prison, is set to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell slapped the former Patriots wideout with an indefinite suspension and wrote in a letter that he had violated the league's code of personal conduct and "caused irreparable harm to the victim and his family, your club, your fellow players and the NFL," according to ESPN.com.

Browns coach Eric Mangini had little to say about the matter.

"Once the league makes the decision they're going to make, then we'll address it then," he told ESPN.com on Wednesday.

Stallworth hit and killed construction worker Mario Reyes on March 14 in Miami after a night of drinking at a club. He had a blood-alcohol level of 0.126, which exceeds the legal limit of 0.08 –  but according to police reports, he said he did not feel drunk after consuming up to four shots of tequila. He also had marijuana in his system.

Stallworth was required to spend 24 days in a Miami-area jail as part of his plea agreement, and he will be  under a form of house arrest for two years. He will also permanently lose his driver's license and will face eight years probation as well as eight years of drug and alcohol testing and 1,000 hours of community service. Reports indicate he also reached a multimillion-dollar settlement with Reyes' family.
