No Progress on Eli Manning’s Contract Negotiations

Looks like Eli Manning will have to wait a little longer before he makes the kind of golf wagers Tom Brady makes with celebrity Giants fans.

The star quarterback told Yahoo Sports that there is nothing new to report on a new contract with New York that will reportedly make him the highest paid player in the NFL, based on annual salary.

"It'll get worked out," he said, offering no further details on the negotiations.

According to Giants general manager Jerry Reese, the contract just needs some final touches before it becomes finalized. It will reportedly pay Manning $97 million through 2015.

Currently, Manning, 28, makes $15.3 million per year. In 2008, he led the Giants to a 12-4 record and threw for 21 touchdowns, 3,238 yards and 10 interceptions.
