Jets Nose Tackle Kris Jenkins Done For Season

As if Sunday's overtime loss to the Bills wasn't bad enough, the Jets learned on Monday that they will be without Kris Jenkins for the remainder of the season.

The nose tackle has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with a torn ACL in his left knee, according to Yahoo Sports. The Jets will re-sign defensive tackle Howard Green — who was released prior to Sunday's game — to compensate.

Jenkins went down in the second quarter of the 16-13 loss while tackling Fred Jackson. He walked off the field and remained on the sidelines temporarily before heading to the locker room.

The 30-year-old is in his second season with New York. Throughout nine seasons in the NFL, seven of which he spent in Carolina, he registered 220 tackles and 24 sacks. The four-time Pro Bowler's absence will be a devastating blow to New York's rush defense.
