Forget Tampa Bay. David Tyree is headed for Baltimore.
The former Giant cut short a visit with the Buccaneers and returned to Baltimore with full intentions of signing with the Ravens, according to ESPN.com. He is expected to sign on Tuesday.
Tyree, who is most infamous for his critical catch against the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII, was released by the Giants in September, just prior to the oepning of the season. The 29-year-old receiver missed the 2008 season after suffering a hamstring injury while recovering from knee surgery.
In five NFL seasons — all spent with New York — Tyree played in 73 games and started five, accumulating 54 receptions and 650 yards.
