Assabet Valley Knocks Off Newton in Mini 1-on-1

There hadn’t been an extra round needed in the girls’ 10-and-under division of the TD Bank Mini 1-on-1. But that changed when Newton and Assabet Valley met.

Newton’s Lucinda Quiqley and Natalie Cohen went against Assabet Valley’s Julia Nearis and Emme Ostrander in the girls’ 10-and-under semis with a chance to reach the championship on the line.

It was one of the better battles of the Mini 1-on-1, and it went down to the wire before Nearis put the showdown away with a goal in the fourth round to give Assabet Valley the 2-1 win.
