The Cavaliers guard, who was arrested on Sept. 17 for speeding on a motorcycle and carrying multiple weapons, was indicted on Tuesday on even more weapons and traffic charges, according to ESPN.com.
In addition to the two loaded handguns and loaded shotgun West was toting while riding his motorcycle in Prince George’s County, Md., he was also carrying an 8 1/2-inch Bowie knife. In the state of Maryland, it is illegal to carry concealed weapons and transport loaded handguns.
All of the charges against West are misdemeanor charges and include two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon, two counts of carrying a handgun, two counts of transporting a handgun, and one count of reckless driving and negligent driving.
Originally, West was charged with just two counts of carrying a handgun and with driving in excess of reasonable and prudent speed.
The weapons counts could each result in a penalty of up to three years in prison.
West is also dealing with a domestic violence report, which his wife filed against him last week.
It is possible that West could face a league suspension from the weapons charges, but he is expected to play in Cleveland’s game against Washington on Tuesday. He made his season debut in Saturday’s win over Charlotte, scoring 13 points in 24 minutes.
