According to The Honolulu Adviser, the world welterweight champion's concert, which was scheduled for Sunday, has been canceled due to poor ticket sales.
The number of tickets sold to the outdoor venue that holds 8,500 people? That would be 603.
"We only needed to sell about 2,500 tickets to break even and we would have been happy," Ryan Chang, the promoter, told the newspaper. "But I can't risk losing that much of our investors' money on walkups and late sales this week. A good walkup is about 500 people. As it stands I'll be taking about a $50,000 loss."
Pacquiao was supposed to perform for an hour, which to anyone who watched him sing "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" earlier this month, could only be described as 60 minutes of pure magic.
Unfortunately, though, Hawaiians were unwilling or unable to pony up for tickets, which ranged in price from $25 to $150.
We'll always have Jimmy Kimmel Live, Manny.
