Tony Schefler Traded to Lions, Ernie Sims to Eagles in Three-Team Trade

Former Denver Broncos tight end Tony Schefler has been traded to the Detroit Lions, with former Lions linebacker Ernie Sims going to the Philadelphia Eagles and a draft pick going to Denver, according to The Denver Post.

The Post lists Schefler as the latest disgruntled Bronco to be sent out of Denver, joining Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall.

ProFootballTalk.com reported that the Eagles sent a fifth-round pick to Denver, and the Broncos sent a seventh-round pick to Detroit along with Schefler.

Schefler, 27, played in Denver for his entire four-year career, hauling in 138 passes for 1,896 yards and 14 touchdowns. His numbers dropped after Cutler left town, though, as he caught 31 passes for 416 yards last year after averaging 44.5 receptions and 597 yards the previous two seasons.

Sims, 25, played four seasons with the Lions, and he missed five games last season.
