Nuggets May Trade Carmelo Anthony if He Doesn’t Sign Long-Term Deal

Because there aren't enough big names potentially finding new homes this summer, Carmelo Anthony is joining the fray.

That's because the Denver Nuggets may trade their star forward if he doesn't sign a long-term extension, according to the Denver Post.

The report cites a source who said "the Nuggets hope Anthony will remain the face of the franchise for years to come, [but] the team is prepared to trade Melo rather than let him walk as a free agent next summer."

Though he has seven years of NBA experience under his belt, Anthony is still just 26 years old. He's a three-time NBA All-Star and he's averaged 24.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game after leading Syracuse to a national title in 2003.
