But whether its a center or winger, that's anyone's guess.
Both Tyler Seguin and Taylor Hall revealed to NHL Fanhouse at Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals on Friday that they will both be heading to Boston — as well as Edmonton, which owns the No. 1 overall pick — for pre-draft visits in the coming weeks. In fact, reports surfaced that Hall was in town over the weekend.
"It's going to be fun to meet with both teams," Hall, the two-time Memorial Cup champion with the Ontario League's Windsor Spitfires, told Fanhouse. "I don't see this as any kind of competition with Tyler to be the first pick or the second pick. All of our games have been played. My guess is the teams have made up their minds, or are at least very close. I plan on going in relaxed. I want to enjoy the visits and learn whatever I can about the Oilers and Bruins."
Other teams had the opportunity to meet Hall and Seguin in Toronto at the NHL Draft Combine, but it's fairly obvious that the B's and Oilers won't be passing up on either of these young snipers.
"I just want to go to the team that wants me the most," said Seguin, a
center with the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL. "There's a part of you
that wants to go No. 1, but that isn't nearly as important to me
anymore. These weeks have been exciting, taking part in the draft combine, getting to go the Stanley Cup Finals. The anticipation is high,
but the good news is we only have to wait until June 25. Taylor and I
will know how this all ends in three weeks."
The Islanders, who held the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft, hosted each of the top-three prospects in John Tavares, Victor Hedman and Matt Duchene. Hedman's schedule limited his stay to four hours, but Tavares and Duchene stayed overnight at the home of general manager Garth Snow on separate trips.
What would you do if you had to host one or both of these young studs in Boston?
