Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin got together for practice on Wednesday. Batting practice, that is.
In the NHL draft’s first trip to Southern California, the two top prospects took to the cages during batting practice before the Angels’ game against the Dodgers at Anaheim’s Angel Stadium, The Associated Press reports.
"It was fun to try that out," Hall told the AP. "I love this city. Everything about it is so relaxing, and it's nice to have a break at the end of this process. It's so great to be out here."
After his first full day in California, Seguin seemed to enjoy it too.
"Girls that are 10s back home are six’s here," he said with a laugh. "It's crazy."
While at the stadium, they met Angels manager Mike Scioscia and Dodgers legend Tommy Lasorda, who gave them a pep talk.
Other stops on their trip included taking a tour of Hollywood and eating at California landmark In-N-Out Burger.
They were joined by defenseman Cam Fowler as well as forwards Brett Connolly and Emerson Etem.
Hall and Seguin are almost guaranteed to be the top two picks overall in Friday night’s NHL Draft in Los Angeles. The Edmonton Oilers have the first pick and the Boston Bruins go second.
While one of the two players will most definitely end up in Boston, neither has expressed any preference on where they land.
