FOXBORO, Mass. — It was a reunion of sorts during the Patriots' walkthrough practice Sunday morning.
Outside linebacker Derrick Burgess joined the team on the field for the first time since reporting to New England and passing his physical Friday. Ron Brace, who has been on the non-football injury list, also took part in several plays at defensive end toward the conclusion of practice. And wide receiver Buddy Farnham rejoined the Patriots after he was cut last week.
Several players were missing, including offensive lineman Nick Kaczur, rookie outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham, wide receiver Torry Holt and rookie safety Ross Ventrone. It was announced later in the day that Holt was placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Quarterback Tom Brady, who hit his finger on a helmet Thursday against the Saints, had his ring and middle fingers taped together during the walkthrough.
The Patriots are expected to be in pads for Sunday afternoon's session, which begins at 2:30 p.m. and is open to the public.
