Jed Lowrie: ‘We’re Here to Win Games’

The Red Sox need some miracles to make the playoffs, but that situation isn’t affecting their attitude on the field.

That was evident in Jed Lowrie on Friday night, as the shortstop went 4-of-4 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored. They all turned out to be huge, too, as the Sox had to hang on for dear life for a 10-8 win in Yankee Stadium.

“We’re here to win games,” Lowrie told Heidi Watney after the game. “It doesn’t matter if we’re mathematically eliminated or three games up — we’re here to win games.”
