It’s always exciting when Isiah Thomas pitches in his two sense about anything. Somehow, though, Thomas managed to steer clear of controversy when discussing LeBron James‘ decision this weekend.
Thomas expressed that he wished James had taken his talents to New York, and such would have benefited the league.
Thomas acknowledged, though, that LeBron has become part of a very good situation.
“We
wanted him to come to New York, but I think he’ll do well in Miami.
They got a great team. I think everybody will be watching to see if they
can put it together and win.”
He even defended LeBron, saying that Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan were wrong to say that he was acting against the spirit of the game.
“I
strongly disagree with their comments,” Thomas said. “[Magic] had a
great team. They said they wouldn’t have left but look who they were
playing with. Those teams were stacked.”
Thomas was slated to return to the Knicks as a consultant this offseason, but was not allowed to by the NBA.
