It would have sounded pretty strange to say "defenses will need to be at full strength to stop Kyle Orton and the Denver passing attack" before the season began. Somehow, it turned out to be the case, and now, that statement applies directly to the New York Jets.
Orton threw for over 300 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Baltimore last week, and this week it will be the New York Jets' turn to try to contain the Broncos.
Both Darrelle Revis and Calvin Pace returned from injuries against the Vikings on Monday, but both were sore following the game, and have had a short week to prepare. Pace, who netted 1.5 sacks in his first game back from foot surgery, was limited in practice Friday, but does expect to go.
Revis, on the other hand, is a game time decision, and will play only if Rex Ryan deems that he is ready.
Ryan, though, seems optimistic.
"I've been impressed with the way he's looked the past couple of days," Ryan told the New York Post. "We'll see what happens when we get out there."
Revis returned on Monday after being cleared by doctors and feeling pressure to compete, but his strained hamstring caused him pain throughout the night.
As for Sunday, "I just try to do my best to prepare to play this week," Revis said.
