Ron Artest, Snoop Dogg Share Spotlight on NBA 2K11 Soundtrack

When Ron Artest isn’t busy backing up Kobe Bryant on the court or thanking his psychiatrist, he can be found in a recording studio.

Now Artest’s rap song "Champion" can be found on 2K Sports' NBA 2K11 soundtrack, according to The Orange County Register.

Artest wrote "Champion" in 2009, but the song wasn’t released until this year, after the Lakers beat the Celtics in the NBA Finals.

"I'm done with music. I'm a success," Artest told the OC Register. "What else is there to do when you sell a million copies? There's nothing else to do."

Artest is in good company. The game soundtrack also includes songs by Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi and Drake.

Snoop Dogg is a well-known Lakers fan but has yet to comment on how it feels to share a soundtrack with the Lakers small forward.

This is the first year that 2K is featuring a player on the cover art that is not an active NBA player. Michael Jordan graces this year’s cover, taking the place of Bryant, who was last year’s cover star.
