Report: Brett Favre Upgraded to Questionable, Could Play Monday Night Against Bears

In a nearly unprecedented move, the Vikings upgraded quarterback Brett Favre from “out” to “questionable” on the team’s injury report Monday afternoon — opening the door for the gunslinger to return to the field outdoors at TCF Bank Stadium against the Bears on Monday night.

Favre will work out two and a half hours before kickoff, and the training staff will determine his status then, according to ProFootballTalk.

Favre has not taken a single practice rep this week, and rookie Joe Webb was expected to make his first start.

“In fairness to him and his team, he would like to be given the opportunity to play tonight if physically able,” Vikings trainer Eric Sugarman said Monday.

Favre was injured two weeks ago on a punishing hit against the Buffalo Bills. Last week, his consecutive starts streak came to the end at 297, and he was said to still be experiencing numbness in his throwing hand this week.
