Tyler Seguin, Mark Stuart Again Healthy Scratches for Bruins, While Tuukka Rask Expected to Start Against Red Wings

BOSTON — Tyler Seguin will be in the press box at least one more game.

Bruins coach Claude Julien confirmed after the morning skate that he won't make any lineup changes after Wednesday's win over Montreal. Seguin was a healthy scratch for just the second time this season in that game, and the rookie center will be out again when the Bruins host Detroit in another Original Six clash on Friday.

Julien said that Seguin is handling the situation "fine."

"He's very understanding and we also understand that he wants to play," added Julien. "He's a player that has a ton of talent. Maybe he hasn't had the benefit of other players such as [Taylor] Hall in Edmonton for example, to play for Memorial Cup teams and so on and so forth. We all know his skill set is high and his potential is also very high. He's developed with us. I think he's made some great strides. His game might have slipped a bit lately. He doesn't have the privilege of playing on a rebuilding team where you keep throwing guys like that out. He's on a team that aspires to bigger and better things and probably a team that has more experience. So he at times has to be patient with that."

Mark Stuart will also be a healthy scratch for the eighth straight game, while Daniel Paille will serve the third game of his four-game suspension.

The Bruins will dress the same 20 players as Wednesday, but there will likely be a change in goal. Tuukka Rask did not participate in the optional morning skate, while Tim Thomas got in some extra work. That would indicate that Rask is likely to get the nod in this one, which would also put Michigan native Thomas in line to start in his home state on Sunday when the Bruins complete the home-and-home series in Detroit.

The Red Wings are expected to start Jimmy Howard, even though he was pulled in favor of former Bruin Joey MacDonald after giving up four goals on 16 shots in 29:48 in a 4-1 loss to Nashville on Wednesday.   

The Red Wings got forward Tomas Holmstrom back on Wednesday after missing nine games with a broken hand, but are still without Mike Modano (wrist surgery), Brad Stuart (broken jaw), Chris Osgood (hernia), Jan Mursak (bruised toe) and Valtteri Filppula (sprained knee).
