As Red Sox Lay Out Rotation, Several AL East Teams Still Trying to Figure Theirs Out

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The biggest news out of Red Sox camp in the third week of spring training was the announcement that Jon Lester would be the Opening Day starter, followed in order by John Lackey, Clay Buchholz, Josh Beckett and Daisuke Matsuzaka.

While some may question why some guys were slotted in certain spots, there is no denying the luxury that the team has in such a deep rotation. It can be taken for granted. Just look at the other camps around the American League East, where all but Tampa Bay are still auditioning multiple pitchers in order to find the right mix for Opening Day.
