Jason Varitek will make his second start of the season and Mike Cameron gets his first start in center field as the Red Sox host the New York Yankees in the finale of a three-game set Sunday night.
Varitek will spell Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who is batting 4-for-22 (.182) with nine strikeouts. The Red Sox captain will be paired with right-hander Josh Beckett. The two have had plenty of success working together in the past.
Cameron will play in place of Jacoby Ellsbury, who is at .156 (5-for-32). Ellsbury is just 1-for-13 with six strikeouts against Yankees starter CC Sabathia.
Manager Terry Francona continues to play the matchup game by putting Marco Scutaro back in there after a day off. Scutaro is 9-for-38 (.321) vs. Sabathia.
Once again, Dustin Pedroia and Adrian Gonzalez will bat second and third, respectively. They are a combined 2-for-30 (.067) with 13 strikeouts against the New York lefty.
