Reward for Assailants in Beating of Giants Fan Brian Stow at Dodger Stadium Doubled to $50,000

While Giants fan Brian Stow remains in a medically induced coma, his assailants, two male Dodgers fans between the ages of 18 and 25, are still at large.

Accordingly, the Dodgers have added $25,000 to the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the attackers.

Following the Dodgers' Opening Day victory over the Giants in Los Angeles, the two attackers blindsided Stow, who was wearing Giants gear, with blows to the back of the head before repeatedly striking him while he was on the ground and then fleeing in a car driven by a woman.

Stow has had a piece of his skull removed, and according to the Los Angeles Times, even if he does recover, colleague Rebecca Mackowiak says that "he won't be the same person again."

"Baseball is a family sport that has unified our country after times of crisis and tragedy," said a statement signed by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee, Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck, San Francisco Police Interim Chief Jeff Godown, Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and Giants managing partner Bill Neukom. "This senseless act of violence has no place in our society and certainly not in our national pastime."
