Daniel Tosh may be a bit crude and, depending on who you ask, not funny, but he goes out of his way to give people second chances. Those people are generally ones who got embarrassed in some video on the Internet, and this week, Tosh.0 welcomed perhaps the king of shameful web videos.
Brian Collins, better known as “Boom Goes the Dynamite Guy,” was welcomed on the show this week for the Web Redemption segment, where Tosh invited Collins to call play-by-play of a pickup basketball game.
The result? Well, it was almost funny. You can see for yourself by watching the video here, but be forewarned that there is some colorful language.
Collins, who said he’s now a freelance reporter, explained the events of that fateful night in college that eventually got him more than 7 million views on YouTube.
“First time being on air, period. I had never stepped in front of a camera really before then,” Collins told Tosh. “And I was doing it on the fly, too, and I was covering something I really didn’t know anything about. … I really knew a lot about sports but not about basketball. clearly something I should have thought about right before on air is maybe I at least should have researched the names or something, you know?”
Ehh. OK, maybe.

“On the real, I wouldn’t be surprised if [Kim Kardashian] paid for that ring herself or they went half on it. He paid for 4karats and she paid 16!”
–Darnell Dockett, chiming in on the 20.5-carat diamond that Kris Humphries bought for Kim Kardashian
Well, yes. That would be it.
Is this video supposed to pump people up? I’m not from Vancouver, but I’m not sure I’d be overly proud of this video.
That said, I of course watched the whole thing.
