Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor's ability to run a two-minute drill was always suspect, but when it comes to two-minute press conferences, we might as well call him Tom Brady.
The often controversial Buckeye spoke for the first time since he announced his intent to leave Ohio State and enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. With new agent Drew Rosenhaus by his side, Pryor spoke for 97 seconds, addressing his apologies to Ohio State fans, teammates and former Buckeyes' coach Jim Tressel, who resigned admist controversy two weeks ago.
"I say sorry to all the Buckeye nation and all the Buckeye fans across the country," Pryor said. "I never meant to hurt anybody directly or indirectly with my conduct off the field, and I am truly sorry."
Pryor also addressed his former head coach.
"In terms of coach Jim Tressel, a special shoutout. I'm sorry for what all went down and I apologize with all my heart. I love you just like a father. You taught me a lot and I apologize for putting you in a situation and taking you out of a job and place that you loved to be. I regret the fact that you're not there anymore and I regret the fact that I'm not there anymore."
Pryor made it clear he will enter the supplemental draft, which is scheduled to take place sometime in July, depending on whether or not the lockout is resolved.
In his typical fashion, Rosenhaus disallowed any questions for his client, saying: "I think I've said it all, so I'd like to thank everybody for coming. Guys, we're going to shut it down right now and I appreciate your time. Thank you."
