Derek Jeter Hits Home Run for 3,000th Career Hit

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter lined a 3-2 pitch from Tampa Bay Rays left-hander David Price into the left field seats at Yankee Stadium for his 3,000th career hit on Saturday.

Fans rose to their feet as Jeter strode to the plate in the bottom of the third inning. Jeter worked a full count from Price before catching the sixth pitch of the at-bat and making history.

Jeter, 37, is the first player in the Yankees' storied history with 3,000 hits.
