Love can give you wings. Divorce gives you, uh, a jet pack?
San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, less than six months removed from his divorce from Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria was finalized, was mending his not-so-broken heart this week in Saint-Tropez, France, TMZ reports. As part of Parker's vacation, he strapped on a water-propelled jet pack and flew across the Mediterranean.
It sounds fun, but if the photo posted by whosay.com is any indication, it looks very, very ridiculous. That's probably never stopped Parker before, though; after all, he is French. And rich.
Thursday would have been Parker and Longoria's anniversary. Maybe all rich French people celebrate their non-anniversaries this way. Who knows?
Parker has lot of time on his hands and may have even more now that it appears there won't be any progress any time soon on a new NBA collective bargaining agreement.
Free time might be amply available, but money isn't. No NBA employees are getting paid during the lockout, which means Parker may want to be careful about dropping any more dough on the jet pack ride, which reportedly cost $5,000.
These are the sort of luxuries the players association is fighting so hard in negotiations to retain.
Is $5,000 worth looking like an extra from a low-budget 1970s sci-fi flick?

Hey Kobe, LeBron wants to know why you didn't do this in a game of Knockout on a camper's head. All the cool NBA All-Stars are doing it.
