Chad Ochocinco Offers to Reimburse Bucs Linebacker Mason Foster If He’s Fined for Hit, But NFL Would Not Allow It

Chad Ochocinco has been no stranger to fines throughout his NFL career. In fact, he's even willing to pony up some cash for his opponents.

Ochocinco was the recipient of a vicious hit by linebacker Mason Foster while sprawling out for a ball over the middle in Thursday's preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The hit prompted an unnecessary roughness call, but the Pats wideout didn't exactly see it that way.

So on Friday, being the Twitter All-Star that he is, Ochocinco decided to get in touch with the Bucs rookie to share his thoughts on the hit. He even offered to pay Foster's fine if the league hands him one.

Ochocinco tweeted at Foster: "great hit last night,if u're fined I'll reimburse u boss. That's the way the game should b played.Stay healthy n have a good yr"

Foster responded to Ochocinco's gesture by tweeting back: "thanks Bruh I appreciate it, goodluck to you too"

Foster, a third-round pick out of the University of Washington, hasn't been fined by the NFL yet. But if he is eventually fined, the league will not allow Ochocinco to pick up the tab.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told Pro Football Talk that it is not permitted for a player to pay another player's fine. Anyone who's fined by the NFL reportedly has to pay the fine by himself, and no kind of reimbursement — by anyone — is allowed.
