Jim Thome joined another exclusive club on Monday night as the Twins designated hitter hit the 600th home run of his career.
Thome hit the milestone blast — a two-run job — off of Tigers left-hander Daniel Schlereth in the seventh inning of Monday night's game between the two AL Central rivals. It was Thome's second homer of the game after he hit another two-run homer in the top of the sixth.
The slugger, in his 21st season in the bigs, joins Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr., Alex Rodriguez and Sammy Sosa as members of the 600-home run club.
