After winning several primetime Emmy Awards, Brian Percival, director of the hit series Downton Abbey, made Liverpool supporters around the world proud, as he dedicated his accomplishments to the 96 supporters who lost their lives in the Hillsborough tragedy.
The lifelong Liverpool fan spoke to LFCtv about why he chose to dedicate his "Best Director" award to the 96.
"For any Liverpool fan and people from the city, the fight for justice has gone on far too long and it's good that it has come back into the spotlight now," Percival said.
"It's important to keep it in the spotlight, I had to mention it and hopefully it will do some good."
On Aug. 22, an online petition demanding Cabinet papers on the tragedy be made public passed the 100,000-signature mark, allowing for a Commons debate to be considered.
The debate in the Chamber of the House of Commons is currently scheduled for Oct. 17.
