Nike Honoring Jon Lester As He Approaches Five Years of Being Cancer-Free (Photo)

On Sept. 1, 2006, the Red Sox and Jon Lester announced that the young left-handed pitcher had cancer. Five years later, Lester is one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Nike and LIVESTRONG are honoring Lester on Monday, Sept. 5, for being cancer-free for five years. Check out the photo of the ad they’re going to run in The Boston Globe on Monday.
