Report: Randy Moss Could Return to NFL If Right Opportunity Presents Itself, New England Likely on Wide Receiver’s Wish List

When Randy Moss retired from the NFL after 13 seasons earlier this offseason, there was still the widespread belief that the wide receiver could potentially end up on the gridiron once again at some point.

Now, Moss could be eyeing a return to the NFL if the right opportunity presents itself, according to West Virginia MetroWest’s Chip Fontanazza, who cites an anonymous source.

Fontanazza also reports that a source said Moss regrets leaving the Patriots and that the Pats would most likely be the only team that he would play for if he were to return to the NFL.

Moss has reportedly been working out everyday and is keeping himself in great physical condition. Moss, of course, struggled during the 2010 season, though, compiling only 28 catches for 393 yards during spurts with New England, Minnesota and Tennessee.

Although it’s difficult to trust an anonymous source in many instances, the future Hall of Fame wideout has made it clear in the past that his heart remains in New England.

When Patriots owner Robert Kraft‘s wife, Myra, passed away in July, Moss flew to Boston to visit Kraft. He reportedly also signed his sympathy card: “Randy Moss Kraft,” remembering the owner’s words that he would always be a member of the Patriot family.

If it were up to quarterback Tom Brady, he’d welcome Moss back “with open arms.”
