Scott Allan Subject of Transfer Tussle Between Liverpool, West Brom and Glasgow Giants

Scott Allan has only played 10 league games in his career, but he’s already drawing interest from three of Britain’s biggest clubs. The Dundee United midfielder has could be the subject of a transfer tussle between Liverpool, Rangers, Celtic and West Brom, according to the Daily Mail.

“Sportsmail can reveal that Kenny Dalglish hopes to fend off competition from the Ibrox side, Celtic and West Brom for the Scotland Under-21 cap,” the report says.

“The Baggies have already had a £400,000 [$621,000] bid accepted by the Tannadice club, but Allan’s future remains up in the air.”

Allan’s contract expires this summer, and his club is hoping to cash in on the talented youngster when the transfer window opens in January. Roy Hodgson thought he had won the race to sign the highly-rated midfielder for West Brom, but Allan could be tempted by offers from bigger clubs.

The 20-year-old is regarded as the best player to come out of Dundee United’s youth system in decades. Glasgow giants Rangers and Celtic are hoping to pursuade him to continue his development in Scotland.

Liverpool could offer Allan a chance to make his name in the English Premier League at a top club. He might see his countryman Kenny Dalglish as a perfect mentor.

Allan has only made seven appearances for Dundee United’s first team. Of those six, he has played 90 minutes just once.

He also has four appearances for Scotland’s U-21 national team to his credit.
