After a 93-67 loss to the New Orleans Hornets Friday night, Howard ripped into the rest of the Magic roster, according to ESPN.
“I look at guys and they don’t look like they want to play,” Howard said. “I told them at halftime, ‘If you don’t want to play, just stay in the locker room,’ because it don’t make sense for a team who we should beat to just demolish us.”
Howard posted 28 points and 16 rebounds in the loss, and was the only Magic player to record double digits in any statistical category. The loss was especially frustrating for the Magic, as the Hornets are currently in last place in the Western Conference, picking up just win No. 4 at Orlando’s expense.
With the exception of a victory against the Indiana Pacers, the Magic have struggled recently with two devastating losses to the Boston Celtics — one in which Orlando was held to a franchise-low 56 points, and another in which Boston stormed back from a 27-point deficit.
Howard, who has been the subject of numerous trade rumors, recently said that he would listen if the Celtics were to call for his services.
